TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Asia Cakra Ceria Plastik has successfully met the United Kingdom (UK) market standard, enabling the small-scale company to export Plastic Products worth billions of rupiah per annum to the European country.

Minister Counselor of the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in London, Thomas Siregar told Antara correspondent here on Sunday that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to that effect was signed in front of Director General of National Export Development, Indonesian Ministry of Trade, Arlinda, attended by the Indonesian Embassy`s Trade Attache in London Nur Rakhman Setyoko and Vitto R Tahar, the Indonesian Embassy`s economic function coordinator.

Cooperation contracts between Indonesian suppliers and partners from the UK have entered the second year. Transaction figures have increased by 300 percent.

They also currently set sights on a number of wider markets they are still focused in the UK for their products such as garments, textiles and coffee.

The Indonesian Embassy in London this year brought 24 prospective buyers from the UK who were registered to participate in the 33rd Trade Expo Indonesia event.

The UK is one of Indonesia`s main trading partners in the European Region. During the period of January - August 2018, the value of Indonesian-UK trade was US$1.76 billion, an increase of around 12.96 percent in the same period of the previous year.

During the January-August 2018 period, Indonesia had a surplus of US$185.5 million.
